Ray was fortunate to be able to spend a great deal of each summer on the island of Spetses in Greece. His relationships there are deep and he had a very special bond with the island.He was also a professor of agricultural economics at the American University of Beirut.

We had a wonderful family trip to Greece in July of 2007, where Ray and Maria, Roger and Malina, Dan and I and the kids enjoyed swimming, hiking, motorcycle riding, and, of course, eating and drinking! It was a gift to us all to have such a wonderful time together.
After siesta time, Dad, Dan, and I would sit on the veranda and have a Mythos as the sun got low (although Dan insisted that Heineken was better - we agreed to disagree on this).
